What moves should Jed make? 1 Year, 11 Months ago

As we get closer to the trade deadline and the All Star break, I know the chatter has picked up amongst Padres fans on trading and the pieces we may or may not need.
Alot of people stil seem to think we will do nothing. I am not in this camp. The new ownership has made the right moves this year in putting together a competative club, and continue to stand by making us a winning franchise. With Jed's recent comments, assuming we don't tank in June (Don't see that happening), I think we will make some moves.
So what do we need? In my mind, we need an outfield bat, and possibly a SS (The Cabrera situation scares me a bit with two injuries to a guys leg whose game revolves around speed).
For the Outfield position, I like the idea of Choo and Hart. I think Hart is the more likely option...Choo would command a sum that our building process does not want to give up. I think we could get Hart for a guy like Leubke and another prospect. The Guy I would really love to have though, Josh Willingham. I don't think he would be on the market unless the Nats truly struggle though.
If we need a ss, there are plenty of veteran options like a counsell or others like him, but the name that would intrigue me the most would be Tejada. He is solid in the field, and another good bat in the lineup.
In the end, it would be Christmas in July if we somehow ended up with a Tejada/Willingham move. We will just have to wait and see.

I have been saying this for a while now, Corey Hart, Corey Hart, Corey Hart. We need insurance in case none of the outfielders come around. Venable so far has been a disappointment along with TGJ and Blanks. Hart is a big right handed bat, speed fits the Petco park mold and would be a very realistic potential match with the Brewers. The "Crew" are DESPERATE for pitching.

I like the idea of corey hart as well. he seems like a good fit. TGJ has started to pick up so i would still continue to platoon him in CF maybe with scotty. I think Dad has given him some stern words and he is really started to pick his numbers up. he has been hitting .340+ in june. Cunningham, Scotty and venable in RF, if venable plays like he did today. then then LF is up for grabs. I like Hart or Willingham, in LF though not sure if Hart plays LF, if not i'm sure we can shuffle left and right.
Power would be great and a bonfide backup to gonzo sounds good to me. Hart seems to be the logical option with the brewers needing pitching and the friars having some depth, though not sure how willing we are to give some of it up.
