Posted this over on the Padres board as well, but we have a chance to watch a guy who I believe can be our CF of the future this weekend in the College World Series:
Rico Noel from Coastal Carolina. They play South Carolina in the Super Regionals beginning tomorrow. Here is a quick breakdown:
Rico Noel CF Coastal Carolina 5'9 170lbs
.348/.464/.587 11HR 62RBI's (As a leadoff man) 56SB 81Runs 17 HBP 31 of 80 hits for ExB
Oh yeah, he was also a utility IF for Coastal Carolina.
His coach and many others call him the best player on a team that went 52-8 and is loaded with hitting and pitching. Has a good arm as well, and plays great defense.
Fun guy to watch, hope some of you tune in this weekend. I put the TV schedule below for those that are interested in checking him out (Eastern Standard Time listed below)
Sat- @12pm ESPNU
Sun- @ 1:00pm ESPN
Mon (If Necessary) @ 1 or 7pm ESPN2

Well, young Rico had an Avg. series against South Carolina. 3-8 with 2 singles, 1R, 1HR, a BB, and 2 K's. Always had someone ahead of him when he reached base, so we never got to see him steal. I look forward to him signing and growing with the Pads over the long haul.
