Friars Fail To Win Final Game, Drop Series to Mets 

The New York Mets beat the Padres in the rubber game Wednesday night, winning a series at Petco Park for the first time since the park opened in 2004. The Mets also took the season series, winning four out of seven after splitting a four game series against the Padres in Citi Field last week.

Both teams scored thirteen runs in the series, but the run scored by the Mets in the 10th inning of game one proved to be the pivotal run of the series, getting a winning run home without a hit on two, walks, a sac bunt and a fielder
