On this 1984 throwback night in Safeco Field, Padres could not channel that winning season as they ended their four game winning streak on the first of the three games on this final series of interleague play against the Seattle Mariners. Padres were stymied by the Mariners Jason Vargas who would collect seven strikeouts.
