Good, Bad, and Ugly v. Dodgers 4/11/13
Dodgers 3- Padres 2
- WP: M. Guerrier (1-0)
- LP: L. Gregerson (1-1)
- HR: Gonzalez (1), Uribe (2)
Nick Hundley – 2-4 double. It looks like Hundley has found his stroke. Let’s see how long Bud will ride this out.
Yonder Alonso – 2-4 RBI (3). Alonso is now hitting a solid .294 on the year.
Andrew Cashner – 1 2/3 IP, 2H, 0ER, 0BB, 1K
Lake Elsinore Storm Opening Day – I ventured up the 15 to watch the Padres single-A team play last night (of all nights). The Storm does an amazing job off the field and I highly recommend taking in a game. If you are wondering, this is one of the most talented rosters in minor league baseball. Go see these kids before they get promoted.
Chase Headley will begin a rehab assignment in Lake Elsinore on Friday night.
Cameron Maybin – 0-3 and he is now hitting .074, 2 for 27 on the season.
Cody Ransom – 0-the season, or 11 if you are a numbers geek.
The Dodgers – You’ve got the Dodgers media department instigating fans on twitter, you have Mattingly calling players on the opposing team names, the diva formally known as Matt Kemp, with his cute leather bag trying to start a fight after the game, and then Magic Johnson tweeting he’s proud of the players and that the Dodgers won’t be intimidated? No wonder this team can’t win. They are a hot mess.
All of this as the Jackie Robinson movie “42” debuts across the county? This is supposed to be a crown jewel franchise for MLB, but it’s more like a baseball franchise with little man syndrome.
Lastly, this fight doesn’t happen if Grienke doesn’t pop off, like a defiant child. Dodger or not, it’s really a shame his collarbone was broken during the melee.
