Good:

Anthony Bass – Pitching in Coors is never easy, but Bass three two shutout innings in relief of starter Jason Marquis

Jesus Guzman – 2-4 RBI.  After sitting the pine in New York, Guzzzz got a chance to swing the wood against LHP Jeff Francis.

Cameron Maybin – 1-4, with his first hit of the season.  Sometimes the first one is the hardest one.

Bad:

Jedd Gyorko – 0-4 with 3K.  After giving Gyorko all kinds of love for three days, I do need to be fair and point out that he is now hitting .188/.188/.313 on the season.  I know it’s only four games, so let’s hope he can take advantage of a few more days at Coors before coming home to Petco.

Nick Hundley – 0-4 and now Hundley is hitting .167.  I am already hearing fans, “here we go again”.  Hundley is a streaky guy, and after getting two hits Wednesday day he had an off day Thursday.

Ugly:

Everth Cabrera – The offense wasn’t an issue as Cabrera with 1-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base.  The defense was the problem.  He bobbled a ball with two outs that allowed the Rockies to tie the game at one in the 3rd.  Instead of getting out of the inning, Marquis ends up giving up a two-run double to Tulowitzki.  Cabrera gave up three runs on defense and the Padres never had the lead again.
