Interest in Forsythe Increasing
According to Chris Cotillo of MLBDailyDish.com (via Twitter), multiple clubs have contacted the Padres about utility man Logan Forsythe. Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports reported last week (Twitter links) that the Yankees inquired about trading for some of San Diego’s infield depth, noting that Forsythe is the most realistic target.

Last season, after the Padres lost All-Star shortstop Everth Cabrera to a 50-game suspension for his involvement in the Biogenesis scandal, it was obvious that the team was lacking middle infield depth. This offseason, they’ve been pretty busy addressing that area by adding the likes of Ryan Jackson, Brandon Wood, Alberto Gonzalez, and Brooks Conrad to compete with Forsythe and super-utility man Alexi Amarista.

What are your guys’ thoughts? Should the Padres trade him to help other areas such as a left-handed specialist? Or is he their best option for infield depth despite being more of a 2B/3B than a 2B/SS?
