Padres Reach Agreement with Stults
According to MLB insider Ken Rosenthal (via tweets), the San Diego Padres have re-signed southpaw Eric Stults to a 1-year, $2.75M deal.
Last season, Stults made all 33 of his starts and pitched a career high 203 2/3 innings. He posted a 3.93 ERA and a solid 1.272 WHIP.
Stauffer, Pads Avoid Arbitration
Rosenthal also reports that the Pads and right-hander Tim Stauffer have avoided arbitration with a 1-year, $1.6M deal.
Stauffer established himself as the go-to long-reliever for the Pads last season. In 43 outings, he posted a 3.75 ERA and 1.134 WHIP over 69 2/3 innings.
Pads Reunite with Gonzalez
Corey Brock of MLB.com reports that the Pads have reunited with utility man Alberto Gonzalez on a minor league deal with an invite to spring training.
