All knotted up at three apiece in the eighth, Chris Stewart tripled in two runners and the Beavers held on to end the eight game losing streak. Cesar Ramos recorded the win pitching a runless seventh. Adam Russell recorded the save with two strikeouts. Russell was involved in a controversy in San Diego the same night being pencilled in as San Diego’s starter on manager Bud Black’s line-up card despite being demoted to Portland the day before.
