The Missions’ one hundredth win of the season brings them a Texas league championship. Lake Elsinore rallies late for the second night in a row to take a 2-0 series lead.

San Antonio Missions 10, Arkansas Travelers 6

Jaff Decker-LF: 1-4, BB, Run scored
Jedd Gyorko-3B: 0-5, 2 K’s
Vince Belnome-2B: 2-4, BB, 2b, 2 RBI, Run scored
Sawyer Carroll-RF: 2-4, BB, RBI, Run scored
Cody Decker-SH: 2-4, BB, HR, 2 RBI, 2 runs scored, K

Simon Castro-SP: 5.0 IP, 7 hits, 3 ER, HR allowed, 10 K’s

 

Notes: The Missions put up 7 runs in the 6th inning to run away with the Texas league championship in their 100th win of the season. Blake Tekotte did not play after suffering a rib injury during a collision at the plate on the previous night. Cody Decker hit .310 with 3 homers and 6 RBI during the playoffs after sitting out most of the last 3 months of the season.

Reymond Fuentes-CF: 1-4, 2 RBI, Stolen base
Jeudy Valdez-SS: 0-4, 2 K’s
Tommy Medica-DH: 1-4, 2b, 2 K’s

Jerry Sullivan-SP: 5.1 IP, 6 hits, BB, 2 ER, HR allowed, 3 K’s

 

Notes: The Storm were down 2-0 heading into the bottom of the 6th but made a late comeback for the second night in a row. The team will make the long bus ride from Lake Elsinore to Stockton and play a game Saturday night needing only one win in the next 3 games. Reymond Fuentes delivered the walk off sacrifice fly to bring home Jonathan Galvez, his second RBI of the game.
