Sharing is Caring

The Storm wrap up the California League title with a dominating win over Stockton, thanks to the bat of series MVP Nate Freiman.

Matt Lollis-RP: 2.0 IP, 1 K

Lake Elsinore Storm 1, Stockton Ports 15 (game 3)

Reymond Fuentes-CF: 0-3
Jeudy Valdez-SS: 1-3, 2 K’s
Tommy Medica-DH: 0-4, 2 K’s
Nathan Freiman-1B: 1-4
Jonathan Galvez-2B: 1-3, Run scored, K, Stolen base
Edinson Rincon-3B: 1-3, RBI
Eddy Rodriguez-C: 1-3, K
Andrew Werner-SP: 5.1 IP, 6 hits, 5 BB, 3 ER, 3 K

Notes: Nate Freiman earned series MVP honors, and hit .386 during the playoffs with 4 homers and 12 RBI in 11 games. The Storm would end up winning 8 of those 11 playoff games, and only trailed in a series after the playoffs’ first game against the 66’ers. Lake Elsinore finished the first half with the 3rd worst record in the CAL league (32-38) but turned things around in the second half. They posted on a 37-33 record in the seasons’ second half, despite a roster that lost MiLB’s hits leader Jedd Gyorko and closer Miles Mikolas. They did receive an offensive boost from the second half promotions of Tommy Medica and Jake Blackwood, and a defensive boost from one of the systems most surprising players in Andrew Werner. We thank you for following the Round-Up this season, We’ll see you next year!
