Sharing is Caring

Here is your Padres Daily Farm Round Up for August 3, 2010

Portland Beavers 2, Salt Lake City Bees 5

Cedric Hunter-CF: 1-3, 3b, BB, Run scored

Mike Baxter-1B: 2-4, Run scored

Aaron Cunningham-RF: 0-3, BB, RBI

Craig Stansberry-3B: 1-4, RBI

Cesar Carillo-SP: 5.0 IP, 3 hits, 4 ER, 2 BB, 3 K’s, HR allowed, Loss

Allen Marona-RP: 2.0 IP, 1 hit, BB, K

Notes: Round-Up favorite Allen Marona made a fine cameo appearance for the Beavers all the way from short-season Eugene, a long distance organizationally, but a short distance geographically

San Antonio Missions 5, Corpus Christi Hooks 11

Lance Zawadzki-SS: 1-4, RBI, Run scored

Logan Forsythe-2B: 0-3, BB, Run scored

James Darnell-DH: 1-3

Christian Colonel-PH: 1-1, 2b, RBI, Run scored

Tyler Lumsden-SP: 5.0 IP, 9 hits, 5 runs allowed, 3 ER, 3 BB, K

Notes: Lumsden was recently acquired from the Astros for future considerations, and has made 3 starts for the Missions. He was drafted by the Marlins originally but did not sign. He was then drafted by the White Sox and later traded to the Royals. The Royals later DFA’d Lumsden who was then claimed by the Astros.

Lake Elsinore Storm 7, Rancho Cucamonga Quakes 3

Cole Figueroa-2B: 0-4, BB, K

Cody Decker-1B: 2-3, 2b, RBI, Run scored

Robert Lara-C: 2-4, 2b, 2 RBI, Run scored

Allen Dykstra-1B: 1-4, HR, 3 RBI

Bo Davis-CF: 1-3, 2b, BB, RBI

Jeremy McBryde-SP: 7.0 IP, 4 hits, 1 ER, 5 K’s, HR allowed, Win

Notes: Angels uber-prospect 19 year old Mike Trout started the game in CF for the Quakes. After absolutely dominating the MWL, Trout is already leaving his mark in the CAL league. In his first 18 games Trout has accumulated 4 doubles, 2 triples, and two homers.

Fort Wayne Tin Caps 8, Lansing Lugnuts 5

Danny Payne-CF: 1-3, 3b, BB, RBI, Run scored, 2 stolen bases

Everett Williams-LF: 0-1, BB, Run scored

Jedd Gyorko-3B: 1-3, BB, Run scored, Stolen base

Jason Hagerty-C: 4-5, 2 HR

Nathan Freiman-1B: 3-5, HR, 2 runs scored

Michael Watt-RP: 2.0 IP, 3 hits, 1 ER, BB, 4 K’s

Miles Mikolas-RP: 1.0 IP, 2 K’s, Save (5)

Notes: Michael Watt, one of Fort Wayne’s best pitchers, increased his strikeout total to 86 on the year, he has walked 29. Watt leads the team in K’s, innings pitched, and has the best ERA among their regular starters.

Eugene Emeralds 0, Yakima Bears 8

Jablonski “Rico” Noel-CF: 1-4

Wesley Cunningham-1B: 2-4, 2 2b

Connor Powers-DH: 1-2

Tommy Medica-PH/DH: 1-2

Keyvius Sampson-SP: 3.0 IP, 3 hits, 5 runs allowed, 2 ER, BB, K, 2 HR allowed

Notes: Keyvius Sampson, who has really impressed so far in Eugene, gave up two homers for the second consecutive game. He also allowed 5 runs for the second consecutive game, though all of them were earned in his previous start.

AZL Padres 5, AZL A’s 2

Brian Guinn-SS: 3-5, Run scored, 2 stolen bases

Donovan Tate-DH: 1-5, Run scored, 3 K’s

Daniel Garce-1B: 2-4, RBI, Run scored

Carlos Garcia-RF: 1-3, 2b, BB, RBI, Run scored

Bryan Altman-3B: 1-2, 2b, BB, RBI

Eugenio Reyes-SP: 5.0 IP, 6 hits, 2 runs allowed, 1 ER, 5 K’s

Rafeal Arias-RP: 1.0 IP, 2 K’s, Save (1)

Notes: Brian Guinn got off to a difficult start in Eugene and was demoted to the AZL. Since joining the AZL Padres however Guinn has found his rhythm. In 10 games Guinn has 16 hits, 3 doubles, 5 walks, and has gone 8-10 stealing bases.
