Sharing is Caring

Here is your Padres Daily Farm Round Up for August 15, 2010

Luebke dominates the ‘Topes, Everett Williams heating up

Portland Beavers 6, Albuquerque Isotopes 5

Cedric Hunter-CF: 2-4, 2b, Run scored

Mike Baxter-RF: 2-3, 2b, HR (16), 3 RBI, 2 runs scored

Josh Barfield-3B: 2-4, HR (4), 3 RBI

Nick Green-SS: 1-2, BB, 2b

Aaron Cunningham-RF: 0-1, 3BB, Run scored

Corey Luebke-SP: 6.0 IP, 3 hits, 1 ER, 1 BB, 9 K’s, HR allowed

Adam Russel-RP: 1.1 IP, 1 BB, 1 K, Save (9)

Notes: Corey Luebke improved his record as a Beaver to 4-0 in 7 starts. In those starts he has compiled 43.2 IP, 19 ER, 39 K’s, 14 BB’s, with a .210 average against. I am willing to bet he will make a start or two in Spetember for the Padres.

San Antonio Missions 6, Springfield Red Birds 4

Logan Forsythe-2B: 1-3, 2 BB, 2b, Run scored, Stolen base (15)

Lance Zawadzki-SS: 2-5, 2b, 3b, Run scored, Stolen base (4)

James Darnell-3B: 0-5, 2 K’s

Sawyer Carroll-RF: 1-4, BB, Run scored

Quintin Berry-LF: 1-4, BB, Run scored

Blake Tekotte-CF: 2-4, BB, 2b, Run scored

Matt Clark-1B: 1-5, HR (21),  2 RBI

Erik Davis-SP: 5.0 IP, 2 hits, 1 ER, 4 K’s

Evan Scribner-RP: 1.0 IP, 2 hits, 1 BB, 1 ER, 2 K’s, Save (10)

Notes: After going 5-30 in 8 previous games with only one extra base hit, in the two games following Lance Zawadzki is 4-10 with 3 extra base hits. His batting average sits at .193 in 14 games as a mission, he batted .231 in 61 games as a Beaver before that.

Lake Elsinore Storm 18, High Desert Mavericks 6

Jesus Lopez-SS: 2-6, BB, HR (2), 3 RBI, 2 runs scored

Jaff Decker-LF: 3-5, 2 HR (16), 6 RBI, 2 runs scored

Cody Decker-1B: 3-6, 2b, HR (22), 3 RBI, 3 runs scored

Vincent Belnome-3B: 2-2, 3 BB, 2b, 3 runs scored

Ryan Skube-2B: 3-5, 2 2b, BB, RBI, 2 runs scored

Erick Gonzalez-RP: 1.1 IP, 2 hits, 3 K’s

Notes: It seemed like a mostly sentimental move to move Ryan Skube up to Lake Elsinore from the Arizona League to play under his father, but he is proving that he belongs in a small sample size. In four games Skube is 7-17 with 4 extra base hits, 4 runs scored, 2 BB, and 6 RBI.

Fort Wayne Tin Caps 3, Lansing Lugnuts 5

Danny Payne-CF: 1-4

 Jedd Gyorko-DH: 1-4, 2b

Dean Anna-2B: 1-3, 2 RBI

Dan Meeley-RF: 1-4

Everett Williams-LF: 1-3, BB, Run scored

Pedro Hernandez-SP: 5.0 IP, 5 hits, 1 BB, 3 K’s, 1 ER

Notes: Everett Williams has been getting hot over the last week or so. In a season that seemed like it might be lost to strikeouts (115 total) a good ending to the season could be a huge deal for Williams. In his last 27 AB’s Everett has tallied 10 hits with 5 for extra bases with only 4 K’s.

Eugene Emeralds 2, Yakima Bears 1

Tyler Stubblefield-SS: 2-4, Run scored

Cole Tyrell-3B: 1-2, HR (1)

Wesley Cunningham-1B: 1-3, 2b, RBI

Rymer Liriano-RF: 1-1, 3 BB, 2b

Matt Branham-SP: 5.0 IP, 2 hits, 1 ER, 6 K’s

Notes: While Keyvius Sampson has been getting all of the attention as far as Emerald pitchers are concerned, Matt Branham has been their most consistent by far. In 44 total innings pitched (8 starts 3 relief appearances) Branham’s ERA stands at 2.86 with a 41/12 K/BB ratio and a groundball ratio better than 2 to 1.

AZL Padres 11, AZL Angels 4

Brian Guinn-SS: 2-4, BB, 3b, RBI, 3 runs scored, 2 stolen bases (12)

Corey Adamson-RF: 3-5, RBI, Run scored

Gunnar Terhune-LF: 1-3, 2 BB, RBI, 3 runs scored, Stolen base (3)

Adan Velasquez-2B: 2-4, BB, RBI, Run scored

Yair Lopez-RF: 2-5, RBI, Run scored, Stolen base (4)

Rob Gariano-SP: 5.2 IP, 5 hits, 2 runs allowed, 1 ER, 3 BB, 3 K’s

Notes: Gariano won his second consecutive start, a rare feat for an AZL Padre pitcher. In his last 4 appearances (2 starts, 2 in relief) totaling 14.2 IP Gariano has allowed only 1 ER while striking out 9 and walking 4.
