Here is your Padres Daily Farm Round Up for August 16, 2010

Stansberry approaching hit record, Dore makes his Debut

Portland Beavers 4, Albuquerque Isotopes 5

Luis Durango-CF: 0-2, 3 BB, Run scored, Stolen base (35)

Mike Baxter-RF: 1-4, BB, 2b, Run scored, Stolen base (19)

Craig Stansberry-2B: 1-5, HR (6), 2 RBI

Nick Green-SS: 2-4, 2 RBI

Aaron Cunningham-RF: 1-3, BB

Josh Geer-SP: 7.0 IP, 7 hits, 5 runs allowed, 4 ER, 2 BB, 2 K’s, HR allowed

Ryan Webb-RP: 2.0 IP, 3 K’s

Notes: Craig Stansberry is rapidly approaching the Beaver’s career hits record. I’m guessing he will get there by Sunday.

San Antonio Missions 1, Springfield Red Birds 9

Logan Forsythe-2B: 1-4

Blake Tekotte-CF: 2-4, BB, HR (7)

Matt Clark-1B: 3-4

Craig Cooper-RF: 2-4

Craig Italiano-RP: 1.0 IP

Notes: Though he only returned from injury recently Craig Italiano has put together a pretty nice season overall. He began the season as the Missions closer, but was placed by Evan Scribner after being injured. Overall he has 45.2 IP, has allowed 36 hits, 24 BB, 32 K’s, 10 ER, and 17 saves. He has a .217 BA against, and a groundball ratio better than 2 to 1. If he can clean up his control, Italiano’s high 90’s fastball should help him toward a nice pro career.

Lake Elsinore Storm

Did not play

Fort Wayne Tin Caps 6, Lansing Lugnuts 4

Jedd Gyorko-DH: 0-3, BB, Run scored

Dean Anna-2B: 2-5, HR

Jason Hagerty-C: 1-5

Edinson Rincon-3B: 2-4, 2 2b, 2 runs scored

Everett Williams-LF: 1-3, 3 RBI

Matt Jackson-RP: 2.0 IP, 1 hit, 1 K

Notes: Jason Hagerty has cooled off a bit since winning Hitter of the Week honors. He has only 3 hits in his last 17 AB’s none of them going for extra bases. I don’t think this is cause for concern, just a slow week from a guy who is having a lights out season.

Eugene Emeralds 4, Yakima Bears 1

Jorge Miyenty-2B: 2-3, 2b, RBI

Rymer Liriano-RF: 0-3

Oscar Garcia-CF: 1-3, BB, HR, 2 RBI, 2 runs scored

Connor Powers-1B: 1-2, BB, 2b, 2 runs scored

Adys Portillo-SP: 5.0 IP, 3 hits, 3 BB,4 K’s

Notes: Adys Portillo finally picked up his second win of the season. For only the second time in ten games Portillo did not allow a run, it was only the third time he pitched into the 5th inning or later in those 10 starts.

AZL Padres 1, AZL Brewers 8

Jose Dore-RF: 0-4, 2 K’s, Outfield assist

Mykal Stokes-CF: 1-3, BB, 2b, Outfield assist

Adan Velasquez-2B: 2-4

Yair Lopez-RF: 1-3, HR, Outfield assist

Steve Garrison-SP: 2.0 IP, 2 hits, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K’s

Notes: Jose Dore made his debut after being signed by the Padres late last week. He batted 2nd for the Padres and showed off the strong arm that scouts talked about before he was drafted in the 9th round. He pitched as well as playing the outfield in High School.
