Here is your Padres Daily Farm Round Up for September 6, 2010

Clark, Decker, and Williams finish MiLB’s regular season in style.

 Portland Beavers 6, Las Vegas 51’s 5

Sean Kazmar-SS: 3-4, 3b, RBI, 2 runs scored

Josh Barfield-LF: 2-4, RBI

Wily Mo Pena-DH: 2-4, HR (9)

Dusty Ryan-C: 2-3, BB, 2b, Run scored

Luis Druango-CF: 1-3

Craig Stansberry-2B: 1-4, Run scored

Nick Green-3B: 2-4, HR (4), 2 RBI

Aaron Poreda-SP: 2.0 IP, 1 BB, 2 K’s

Notes: The Beavers played their final game as a franchise in front of their first sellout of the season. 15,639 Oregonians looked on as franchise hits leader Craig Stansberry crossed the plate to tie the game on the home run that made Nick Green the last Portland Beaver to ever score a run. The Beavers finished one game ahead of Round Rock for 15th place in the 16 team PCL.

San Antonio Missions 6, Corpus Christi Hooks 2

James Darnell-3B: 2-4, 2b, Run scored

Matt Clark-1B: 2-4, HR (28), 2 RBI

Quintin Berry-RF: 2-4, 2b, RBI

Jeremy Hefner-SP: 7.0 IP, 6 hits, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K’s

Notes: Matt Clark finished off the minor league season as hot as any man not named Mike Moustakas. In the season’s final 10 games Clark clubbed 5 homers, drove in 11 runs, and batted at a .343 clip. The Missions did not qualify for the playoffs.

Lake Elsinore Storm 5, High Desert Mavericks 10

Dan Robertson-CF: 2-4, BB, 3b, RBI, Run scored

Cole Figueruoa-2B: 2-5, 2b

Cody Decker-DH: 1-3, 2 BB, HR (28), 2 RBI

Chris Tremblay-SS: 2-4, Run scored

Juan Oramas-SP: 5.0 IP, 4 hits, 3 ER, 2 BB, 2 K’s, 2 HR allowed

Notes: Cody Decker, like Matt Clark, mashed his way through the final week and a half of the season with 5 homers. Even better than Clark perhaps, in those 10 days Decker had 16 hits and 12 walks for a .457/.569/1.00 slash line. The Storm will begin their playoff run this Saturday at 7:05 PST.

The Tincaps playoff tilt begins tomorrow at 5:05 PST against the best team in the MWL during the second half: the Great Lakes Loons.
