Padres Daily Farm Round Up: 4-10-11

T-Pads, Tincaps get rocked on tough day for Padre pitching.

 

Tucson Padres 2, Colorado Springs Sky Sox 12

Logan Forsythe-2B: 1-3, 2 BB, 2 runs scored

Matt Clark-LF: 1-4

Anthony Rizzo-1B: 3-4, 2 RBI

Luis Martinez-C: 1-2, 2b

Simon Castro-SP: 4.0 IP, 9 hits, 9 runs allowed, 8 ER, 3 BB, 2 K’s, 1 HR

 

Notes: Simon Castro struggled is his first start of the season. On a very cold day which saw Simon wearing long sleeves, uncommon according to his team mates, he struggled to get his velocity up to its normal level touching 92 only once and sitting at 89-90 mph. His slider and changed both showed their high quality potential, but the fastball was flat and very hittable.

Notes: Utility man Anthony Contreras paced the Missions offense, whis is his third season in San Antonio following his aquisition from the giants.

Notes: The Storm have managed only three hits off of the Giants top pitching prospect Zach Wheeler, who struck out 3 and walked three through five scoreless innings. Lake Elsinore starter Michael Watt gave up 5 runs on only two hits but walked 6.

Notes: Sanchez was the only Tincap to pitch more than a third of an inning without giving up a run. The relievers that followed him combined to give up 13 ER on 18 hits in only 4 innings.
