Padres Daily Farm Round Up: 4-11-11

Missions rack up 8 homers and 23 runs in rout of Tulsa.

Tucson Padres 6, Salt Lake City Bees 7

Everth Cabrera-SS: 3-5, 2 BB, 2 Runs scored

Logan Forsythe-2-6, 2 2b, 4 RBI, 3 K’s

Matt Clark-LF: 1-5

Anthony Rizzo-DH: 2-7, 2b, RB, KI

Luis Durango-CF: 2-6, Run scored, Stolen base

Jeremy Hefner-SP: 4.2 IP, 4 hits, 5 ER, 2 BB, 3 K’s, HR allowed

Notes: As expected Luis Martinez was unable to make the start on Monday. He tweaked a hamstring legging out a double in the final game of the Colorado Springs series. The Padres staged a late rally posting 2 runs in the sixth and 4 runs in the seventh inning to force a tie. They lost when a man on third was forced in by a “detatched equipment” violation when an umpire said Guillermo Quiroz touched the ball with his mask.

San Antonio Missions 23, Tulsa Drillers 10

Blake Tekkotte-CF: 3-6, RBI, Run scored, 2 K’s

Cody Decker-1B: 3-6, HR, 2b, 2 RBI, 2 Runs scored, 2 K’s

Jaff Decker-LF: 3-6, BB, 3b, HR, 4 RBI, 3 Runs scored, 2 K’s, Stolen base

Sawyer Carrol-RF: 4-6, 2b, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 3 runs scored, 2 K’s

Beamer Weems-SS: 3-6, BB, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 3 Runs scored

Colt Hynes-RP: 1.0 IP, 0 hits, 0 BB

Notes: The Missions tallied 8 of 11 total home runs hit in this slugfest. Jaff Decker delivered the biggest blow of the evening with an 8th inning Grand Slam. Even starter Matt Buschmann got in on the fun adding a homer. Beamer Weems, Sawyer Carroll, and Jaff Decker combined for 28 total bases.

Lake Elsinore Storm 11, Rancho Cucamonga Quakes 1

Reymond Fuentes-CF: 2-5, 2 Runs scored, K, Picked off

Jedd Gyorko-DH: 3-4, BB, RBI, 3 Runs scored

Jonathan Galvez-SS: 2-3, BB, RBI, K, Stolen Base

Jeudy Valdez-2B: 2-4, RBI, 2 runs scored, K, Stolen base

Rico Noel-LF: 1-3, Run scored, K, Stolen base

Jerry Sullivan-SP: 5.0 IP, 5 hits, 1 ER, 5 K’s, 2 BB, HR allowed

Notes: After an unsung but important season as a member of the Tincap rotation Jerry Sullivan made a quality Hi-A debut. In Fort Wayne he posted an excellent 92/29 K/BB ratio in 116 innings. Despite delivering only one hit on the day, Round-Up favorite Jason Hagerty tallied 4 RBI.
