Some bright spots for the week were the work of centerfielder Rico Noel who upped his average from .183 to .208 while scoring eight runs with a double, homerun, four RBI and six base on balls. Outfielder Luis Domoromo increased his average to .315 from .302 with five runs scored, two doubles, a triple and five RBI with three base on balls. Shortstop BJ Guinn had five runs scored with a double and two triples for seven RBI and two base on balls and two stolen bases. The conclusion being that there was plenty of offense but poor defense and pitching overall. One pitching performance that deserves to be pointed out is previous player of the month, Matt Jackson, increasing his record to 4-1 and a 2.24 ERA with a six inning performance while allowing three hits and no runs with five strikeouts. One of the two games won during the week. The beginning of the mid-season shuffle starts with the promotion of Jake Blackwood to Lake Elsinore as an injury replacement. Pitcher Stiven Osuna arrives from Lake Elsinore. Catcher Jhonaldo Pozo arrives from Lake Elsinore. Pitchers Chase Marona and Matt Jackson go on the 7 day DL. Osuna makes his debut as a reliever with three appearances for four innings and allows no runs. Outfielders Rymer Liriano and Luis Domoromo maintained their averages above .300.
