Sharing is Caring

tincapsThe TinCaps starting pitching improved during the week overall with starters and relievers putting in better efforts but the offense struggled. The defense is improved with less errors made and the record for the week was 3-4 with an overall 5-10.

Starter Keyvius Sampson pitched five shutout innings but did not get the win although he allowed only three hits and notched seven strikeouts. Reliever Ibarra got the win with the runs scored during his two inning stint of two hit ball.

Starter Mark Hardy threw a seven inning gem, allowing four hits and no runs with five strikeouts and lowered his ERA to 2.63 with just a 5-7 record.

Adys Portillo is slowly working his way back to respectability with a 3.2 inning effort and two hits for a 7.20 ERA.

3B Connor Powers is surging and has driven his average from .250 to .303 while banging out five doubles during the week.

OF Rymer Liriano is holding his average over .300 and currently has forty stolen bases in fifty three attempts while hitting three doubles and two RBI for the week from the two spot.

The roster changes will significantly change the look of the team going forward as this week and next week will reflect many different players changing teams.

Pitcher Dennis O’Grady arrives from Arizona (2011 draft pick) to bolster the starting ranks while Deiber Sanchez goes on the DL for a shoulder injury.

IF Bryan Altman (2010 draft pick) makes a four day appearance from San Antonio

Reliever Robert Lara arrives from Lake Elsinore while Jeff Ibarra is moved up to LE.

Reliever Chris Haney (2011 draft pick) arrives from the Eugene Emeralds and pitches in two games for 2.1 innings pitched but ends up with a 7.71 ERA for his effort.

Starter Matt Branham is moved to the DL retroactive to 7/5.
