Sharing is Caring

tincapsThe Fort Wayne Tin caps went to the playoffs and won their first playoff series versus Bowling Green two games to none. They then moved on to play their division rivals, the Lansing Lugnuts, and lost the first two games to be eliminated from the playoffs.

OF Rymer Liriano had a great playoff run, going 11 for 17 with three runs scored, two doubles, a homerun and six RBI. 2B Cory Spangenberg, who finished the season strong, went 8 for 17 with three runs scored a double and RBI. The rest of the starting nine struggled through the playoffs with little production from the second half of the lineup.

Starter Matt Jackson, who missed a lot of the season (64.1 IP) due to injury, had six innings pitched with five hits and a run and won his start.

Mark Hardy went eight scoreless innings with four hits and seven strikeouts to continue his strong season (2.78 ERA). As noted in the season end review, Hardy had a lower ERA than Keyvius Sampson with more innings pitched and was the only pitcher on the staff to pitch a complete game.
