No team ever wants to be swept, but the fashion in which the TinCaps were beaten by the Bowling Green Hot Rods was like bleeding to a slow death. The Hot Rods won the series with pitching, defense and timely hitting. In all three games the 'Caps scored only 5 runs, getting shut out and coming one out away from being no hit in the series finale. The Hot Rods turned in sterling pitching performances in all three games, led by Shane Dyer and Kirby Yates' 8 2/3 innings of no hit ball on Thursday. The TinCaps went 1-for-23 with runners in scoring position in the series set. It was the first time Fort Wayne has been swept in a three-game road series since early August, 2008. Jerry Sullivan continues to pitch masterfully for the TinCaps. Thursday he nearly matched Dyer pitch for pitch, firing 7 innings, 1 ER, 6 K, 0 BB. The 'Caps return home for a three game tilt with the Lansing Lugnuts.
