The Padres have avoided arbitration by agreeing to deals with Headley, Hundley, Stauffer, Baker, Thatcher, Quentin, Volquez, Venable, and Gregerson. Only two players still unsigned are Clayton Richard and Dustin Moseley

Catcher/DH Jason Hagerty is the offensive player of the month for the TinCaps. Hitting in the middle of the TinCaps lineup, Hagerty has emerged as the 'Caps most consistent offensive player in July. His .394 average in July led the team which included 10 doubles, 2 homers, and 14 RBI, however the most impressive stat may be his .508 OBP along with a 1.093 OPS.
The TinCaps pitcher of the month is Jose DePaula. DePaula started 6 games in July racking up a 3-1 record and 3.94 ERA. The 3 wins were the most by a TinCaps starter in July. In 29.2 innings, DePaula struck out 23 while only walking 9. Hitter averaged .256 against him in July, also a team best for starters.
