Gyorko went 2/4 with a run and 2 RBI with a strikeout. Hernandez pitched a inning of hitless relief and the Cal League All-Stars beat the Carolina League All-Stars 6-1. The second half of the season began with a series against Inland Empire with the Storm winning the first two games by decided margins and terrific pitching performances continuing from relievers Zach Herr (2.14 ERA) and closer Miles Mikolas (10th save, 1.28 ERA). CF Reymond Fuentes also added his 31st steal of the season to start the second half. The flip-flopping of Galves and Valdez has stopped with Galvez playing 2B consistently and Valdez playing short on a daily basis, both raising their averages to .296 and .271 respectively. The mid-season of minor league ball brings about many changes in rosters as players are promoted and switched around to balance out the teams. That process began with catchers Rocky Gale and Ross Brayton moved to Tucson (temporary) and the Arizona League, respectively. Pitchers Chris Wilkes moved to Eugene, Andrew Werner to Fort Wayne, Pedro Hernandez moving to Tucson (probably a spot start). Catcher Jhonaldo Pozo to Eugene and Jason Hagerty brought back from the DL. This is only the beginning as everyone expects that more movement will take place after AAA plays their All Star game the next week. The promotion of Gyorko and Mikolas would not be surprising.
