The Tucson Padres finished an eight game road trip with four games against the Milwaukee Brewers triple-A affiliate, Nashville Sounds. Game one was highlighted by starting pitcher Samuel Deduno for Tucson.
SP Deduno pitched six innings and allowed two runs while striking out five batters. He helped his own cause with a two-run homerun in the fifth inning off of opposing SP Michael Fiers. That was Deduno’s third career homerun.
With the game tied at two in the bottom of the ninth, a wild pitch by Tucson relief pitcher Luis Perdomo allowed the Sounds to take the lead. Former T-Pads pitcher Randy Flores closed the game for Nashville as Tucson lost game one 2-3.

The trade deadline has passed, players have been dealt, injuries have occurred and young players are getting the opportunity to contribute on big league ball clubs all over major league baseball.
As of August 5, the San Diego Padres have five players on their major league roster that started the season on the Tucson Padres triple-A roster.
There is no arguing that the most impressive hitter to get the call up from Triple-A this year has been Jesus Guzman. The 27 year-old Guzman is batting .337 with four homeruns and 23 runs batted in; he is slugging .589 and has three stolen bases in 35 major league games this season.
