San Antonio – San Antonio Missions left fielder Jaff Decker has been named the Texas League Player of the Week for the week of April 11-17.
Decker, a native of Phoenix, AZ, hit .444 (12-for-27) for the week (six games) with five doubles, four home runs, 13 RBI and nine runs scored. He was part of a Missions offense that established a franchise-record with eight home runs in a game in a 23-10 win at Tulsa on April 11. Four days later Decker hit two of the seven San Antonio homers in their 26-5 victory over NW Arkansas.
For the season Decker is hitting .366 with four homers and 15 RBI. He currently leads all of Double-A baseball in total bases (35) and leads the Texas League slugging percentage (.854), extra-base hits (11), walks (11), is tied for the league lead in doubles (6), ranks second in RBI, is tied for second in homers, fifth in on-base percentage (.500) and 10th in average.
