Sharing is Caring

missionsThe San Antonio Missions beat up on Texas League opponents in April to the tune of a 15-7 record.  Historically a team that struggles to put up offensive numbers playing half their games in Wolff Stadium, this Missions team put up over 20 runs during three (two on the road) games in April.  Our Missions hitter and pitcher for the month of April are Jaff Decker and Nick Vincent.

jdecker4Jaff Decker – Jaff may soon be forcing the Padres hand with an outfield spot.  Decker is on fire and after speaking to a couple scouts, it sounds as though we may see him in San Diego later this season. Jaff hit .316/.449/.759 with 17 of his 25 hits going for extra bases, which included seven doubles, eight homeruns, while driving in 27 RBI.  Part of a dangerous Missions offense, Decker led the way.

Honorable Mention to James Darnell and Cody Decker

Nick VincentNick Vincent – Often times arms in the pen are overlooked, but when you look at the numbers Vincent put up in April he cannot be denied the award.    Coming off an outstanding year for the single-A Lake Elsinore Storm, Nick has picked up where his 2010 left off.  Vincent completed 13 2/3 innings, appearing in nine games, allowing only four runs on eleven hits.  He also struck out 16, while only allowing two walks, and help opponents to a .224 batting average.
