Padres’ Blown Leads Result In Series Sweep at Wrigley
The Padres came into the series having not scored in almost three whole games while facing a team that had lost 12 in a row. With both teams floundering at the bottom of their divisions somebody would have to come out on top. Unfortunately it was Chicago as the Padres lost leads in all three games, losing their third consecutive series and finishing their 10 game road trip with a 1-9 record after getting swept by the Cubs
Carlos Quentin made his Padres debut and proved to be a force to be reckoned with, hitting .538 with three homers, three doubles and a single over the three game series. On the flipside Yonder Alonso seemed to have left his stroke in New York, going 0-13 on the series.
The Padres will head home to face the Diamondbacks who lost their series to the Giants in AT&T Park.
Below is a game-by-game recap of the final series of a very tough road trip for the Friars.
