Padres Bring Out The Brooms In Arizona. 

The Padres finished a great road trip with an exclamation point, sweeping the Diamondbacks in Chase Field. The win finished the trip with five straight wins, with seven victories out of 10 games on the trip.

The Padres will hope to ride this winning momentum into their next series as they will start a four game series against the Reds on Thursday beginning with a huge matchup of Mat Latos versus Edinson Volquez.

Clayton Richard got back in the win column, coming just one out short of a complete game, and the Padres again used the long ball to help beat the Arizona on Monday.

Richard as phenomenal for the fourth straight start, surrendering two runs on eight hits with only a walk. He was pulled in favor of Joe Thatcher with two outs and two on in the ninth. Thatcher threw one pitch to get his first career save in his 214th appearance.

Alexi Amarista homered with one out in the first to put the Padres ahead, 1-0.
