Padres Cap Joyous Weekend With Fifth Consecutive Series Win. 

The Padres ended an exciting weekend on Sunday with a 12-11 walkoff win, beating the Rockies two of the final three contests to take the series against the Colorado Rockies. Wearing the navy pinstripe uniforms of Tony Gwynn and Trevor Hoffman, the Padres opened their series with division rival Colorado with a 7-4 loss. The next day they unveiled the new Jerry Coleman statue before evening the series with a 4-3 victory.

Finally they took the series in walkoff fashion with a two-out game winning single by Yonder Alonso in the ninth to finish out a four hit day for the Padres first baseman. Along with his grand slam on Friday, Alonso was 5-12 with six RBIs and three runs scored, earning Friarhood Player of the Series honors.
