Friars Avoid Sweep Yet Again With Sunday Victory

The Padres finally beat the Diamondbacks at Chase Field, snapping a 16-game losing streak with a 7-6 victory on Monday. They also beat them for the first time in their Purple pinstripe uniforms they wore since Friday night, honoring their 2001 championship team.

The Padres lost their fifth straight series since splitting a two game series against the Giants when divisional play started August 23rd.

The Padres remain 21.0 games out of first with 15 remaining. Arizona does hold a seven and a half game lead over San Francisco with 15 games to play as well. Below is a game recap of the four game series in Phoenix over the weekend.
