WELCOME ABOARD: The Padres announced today that they have hired A.J. Hinch as Vice President, Professional Scouting…Hinch most recently served as manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks over parts of the 2009-10 seasons.
BEAT LA: The Padres have posted an 8-7 record against the Dodgers this season, heading into their final meeting…San Diego has won seven of the last nine matchups with the Dodgers and each of the last four…the Padres have won three of six at Dodger Stadium this season, splitting both a two-game series in May and a four-game set in August…with one win in Los Angeles, the Padres would clinch at least a split of the season series for the first time since 2007 when they went 10-8 vs. the Dodgers.
