Good, Bad, and Ugly 4/11 vs. DBacks

good bad and uglyDenorfia lifts the Padres to a 2-1 victory
WP: Ernesto Frieri (1-0)
LP: David Hernandez (0-1)
Save: Huston Street (1)
Homeruns – SD: Chris Denorfia (1)

The Good:

Chris Denorfia (DEE-NOR-FEE-AHHH)

1-4 HR (1), 2 RBI (2).  Deno goes big fly in the bottom of the 8th to give the Padres a two run lead.

Cory Luebke

  • 5 1/3IP, 4H, 1ER, 5K, 4BB – After a rocky first inning in which Luebke walked a run in, he was able to bear down and give the Padres a great outing.

Brach, Spence, and Frieri

  • In relief of Luebke the trio threw 2 2/3 innings while striking out four and not allowing a run.

Huston Street

  • In his first save opportunity, Street worked a perfect ninth.

The Bad:

Orlando Hudson

  • Hudson avoids the ugly list with a basehit today, only to get picked off at first base.  Fans have been outspoken via social media in regards to benching Hudson.  Based on his play in 2011 and through five games this season, I can’t argue with them.

The Ugly:

Nick Hundley

  • 0-2 K, BB – When healthy Hundley was very productive in 2011.  After going hitless again today, Hundley is now 0-15 on the season.
