Good, Bad, and Ugly 4/20 vs. Phillies

good bad and ugly
Padres fall to the Philles 4-1
WP: Cole Hammels (2-1)
LP: Edinson Volquez (0-2)
Save: Jonathan Papelbon (5)
Homeruns – PHI: Victorino (2)

The Good:

Chase Headley

  • 1-4, K.  Headley has now his safely in 11 of the last 12 games.

Orlando Hudson

  • 1-3 BB,K.  I know I’m pretty hard on Hudson, but he seems to be putting together better at bats lately.  He also looked solid in the field tonight.

Joe Thatcher

  • 1.2IP, 0H, 0ER, 0K, 0BB.  Joe was perfect through five batters tonight.

The Bad:
Josh Spence

  • 1/3 IP, 4H, 1ER, 1HRA Rough night for the Aussie.  After giving up the homerun to Victorino, Spence gave up three consecutive singles forcing Black to pull the Spence after registering only one out.

The Ugly:
Andrew Cashner

  • 1IP, 2H, 0ER, 1K.  Cashner’s line doesn’t look bad, but what it doesn’t show is that the three runners he inherited all scored and were charged to Volquez.  I don’t blame Cash though, the guy is tie for the most pitching appearances in the majors right now.  Guess that arm injury Cashner suffered last year doesn’t bother Buddy on bit.

Friarhood Radio will air at 10am, Saturday morning on XTRA Sports 1360AM.  Padres General Manager Josh Byrnes is scheduled to join the show in the 11 o’clock hour.
