Michael Choice OF Univ of Texas/Arlington - Jr 6-1 215 lbs Bats R Throws R This is a college player with big tools. He possesses big time power to all fields and has a fast bat. He stands out as one of the top college players available in this draft. Along with his advanced bat, Michael has above average foot speed and is a good base runner with good instincts on the base paths. His speed would allow him to play any outfield position but is best suited to the corners because of his power. Choice has a strong , accurate arm with good fielding skills and average range. Was a member of the college Team USA last season and finished the experience with the most HR of anyone on the team. In the Southland Conference this spring he was chasing the triple crown. Michael may very well be the first college position player taken is this year’s draft. The only criticism lodged against him is that his hitting mechanics need some work and may be high maintenance as a major leaguer.
