With all due respect to Dick Enberg, Matt Vasgersian is Padres baseball, at least on television. Dick is the consummate professional and a icon in sports broadcasting. I realize that the new ownership wants to put its stamp on the team -- and after dumping the sand uniforms, replacing Towers, and trading Peavy and Adrian, they have made their point. Grant and Vasgersian did an amazing job covering Padres' games, which is easier said than done given the lack runs scored in games played at Petco. There is hope… both Enberg and Vasgersian’s contracts are up after the 2011 season, and when you consider that Enberg actually makes more than Vasgersian, I see no reason why we couldn’t be hearing "SANTA MARIA" in 2012.
