Sharing is Caring

Bud BlackOpening day is coming quickly and most teams have set their rotations, but the Padres have not.  A combination of ineffective outings and minor injuries have casted a dark shadow about the Padres starting rotation.  The big keys to the Padres 2010 success were the effectiveness of the starting rotation, but also the ability for the majority of the rotation to remain healthy.

Heading into Busch Stadium on March 31st fans and media alike are speculating who will be the opening day pitcher.  I wanted to take a look at how three of the Padres starters have fared in St. Louis over their careers.

GS W L ERA IP R ER BB SO
Mat Latos 2 0 2 25.31 5.1 15 15 5 2
Clayton Richard 1 0 0 7.36 3.2 3 3 6 1
Aaron Harang 9 3 5 4.15 56.1 28 26 11 39

Looks like a tough call any way you slice it.  Time to put on the managers cap, who gets the opening day nod in St. Louis?
