LHP Cesar Ramos (21.21 ERA, 7 ER on Friday) has been optioned to Portland. RHP Luis Perdomo (3.76 ERA in Triple-A) recalled. Perdomo had spent time on the Padres 09 roster. Perdoma in 60 IP went 1-0 in 35 games with a 4.80 ERA/1.52WHIP/ .246 BBA almost striking out a batter per inning with 55 K's. This year in Portland Perdomo has gone 1-2 with a 3.76 ERA in 16 games with 26.1 innings pitched. Louis has only allowed 2 HR's, striking out 16 with a WHIP of 1.33 but has allowed 8 base on balls. Baseball Cube credits Luis Perdomo's Scouting Report with a Control: 33/K-Rating: 96/Efficiency:93/vsPower: 45 Scouting Report from 08 – (from Baseball America) "Despite being old for his level, the 6-foot, 170-pound Perdomo offers an intriguing package coming out of the bullpen, seeing as he has two pitches that grade out as at least plus. His fastball sits at 94 mph and touches 95. His slider might be his best pitch, though, as it's a hard 86-88 offering with good tilt that has proven to be lethal against right handed batters." Perdomo has a live arm and in his stint with the Padres last year we was hit or miss. Perdomo can get it up in the high 90's topping out at around 97MPH with a plus slider. Perdomo will mostly likely be another long relief swing man until Tim Stauffer fully recovers from him surgery. Stauffer has resumed throwing from 60 ft and has done some light running but is not scheduled yet to get on the mound any time soon.
