The Padres have waited to the last day of the year to pull off a trade. When I woke up this morning to start this piece I had no idea I was going to be posting about a move. Then I saw Tom Garfinkel tweet that it was "Another exciting day for Padres baseball" and I knew something was up. Not a minute later did the news break. I thought they finally moved Anthony Rizzo. But instead we are now home to Carlos Quentin. More details can be found in the first link. Submit articles and follow me on twitter @M_Rennick
Carlos Quentin traded to the Padres - MLBTR "The Padres have acquired Carlos Quentin from the White Sox for pitching prospects Simon Castro and Pedro Hernandez, the teams announced."
Chicken Friars looks back at Nate Colbert coming to the Padres "In his first year with the Padres, Colbert hit .255/.322/.482 with 24 home runs. He was an instant hit. In his career with the Padres, Colbert hit .253/.331/.469, clubbed 163 home runs, and accumulated 15.3 WAR in his 6 seasons with San Diego." Gaslamp Ball solved the mystery of where Jeff Moorad is in Jerry Maguire "It's all about watching the characters in the background. Moorad may or may not have a beard. He may or may not be playing a waitress or he could even be hiding in plain site as a Tom Cruise stunt double. Focus will be the key."
