Sharing is Caring
The Padres get freaked out and fall 8-4 to the Giants
WP – Tim Lincecum (1-1)
LP – Tim Stauffer (1-1)
Save – Ramon Ramirez (1)
HR: SD: Hundley (1) SF: Posey (1)

The Good:

Nick Hundley

  • “Hot Rod” extends his five game hitting streak after launching a 400 foot bomb that almost ended up in the huge Frazee paint can in left field.

Chase Headley

  • 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles and a pair of RBI, Chase now leads the team with seven RBI.

No Quit

  • Down 8-1 heading into the bottom of the ninth, the Padres tried to rally and brought the tying run to the plate.

The Bad:

The Crowd at Petco

  • 24,368 were in attendance, and if felt like most of them were Giants fans.

Tim Stauffer

  • Tim bounced back from a rough first inning, but was not able to complete the fifth leaving him with 4 2/3 IP, allowing four earned runs on eight hits, while striking out one and walking two.

Brad Hawpe

  • In the cleanup spot, Hawpe is hitting .071 and has only reached base twice in four games.  He is showing glimpses of improving at first base, but still seems to make routine plays an adventure.

The Ugly

Ryan Ludwick

  • Ryan continues to struggle at the plate.  He was 0 for 4 today and is now 2 for 17 on the season.  Ludwick has been hitless in four of the Padres five games played.
