Padres break the bats out and put a beating on the Dodgers 7-2 WP: Aaron Harang (2-0) LP: John Ely (0-1) HR – SD: Ludwick (1), Hundley (2), Maybin (2) The Good: 2-2, HR and a triple. Maybin was getting Petco’d on Saturday and came off the bench Sunday to take advantage of the day time conditions of Petco Park. 1-2, 2-run HR, “Hot Rod” now has a seven game hitting streak. Harang must be happy to pitch in Petco. Even during a day game, in which Petco tends to play fair, Harang was able to shut down the Dodgers en route to his second victory of the season. 6IP, 1ER, 3H, 2K, 2BB The Bad: 1-4 2B. Hawpe did rip a 3-1 fastball for a double in the second inning, but followed that up with three strikeouts as his average on the season rose to .174 The Ugly: 0-4 In six starts this season, all in the leadoff spot, Venable is 3-25 for a whopping .120 batting average. I do respect that Black is providing the lineup with some consistency this season, but Will has to start producing at some point if he is going to stay at the top.
