Sharing is Caring

Each month the Friarhood select an outstanding position player for the Hitwithafriarpan award. The Month of April Padres award winner is: Chase Headley.

chase headley walk off

Affectionately called the “Savior,” Chase Headley was a beacon of consistency for the Padres in the first month of the season. Headley had a hit in 19 of the 23 games the team played in April, reaching base in 20 of the 23.  Chase led the team in hits (29), doubles (6), runs (16), stolen bases (7), and batting average (.322). "Headley’s Hot Corner" has been hot at the plate hitting .333 with Runners in scoring position with 2 outs.  Chase ranked among the National League Leaders in hits (8th), runs (t- 20th), doubles (t- 16th), stolen bases (t- 4th).

The Friarhood would also like to recognize our minor leagues hitters of the month.

Portland Beavers             Chris Denorfia

San Antonio                       Cedric Hunter

Lake Elsinore                    Daniel Robertson

Fort Wayne                        Nate Freiman

Chase is off to an All-Star year and had another game-winning hit in on May 4th. A great stat I saw was that he is 4-4 with a HR, 2B, and 3 RBI after A-Gon is intentionally walked.
