DENVER – The San Diego Padres announced today they have reinstated infielder Chase Headley from the 15-day disabled list. Executive Vice President/General Manager Jed Hoyer made the announcement.
Headley, 27, was placed on the 15-day disabled list on August 8 with a fractured finger on his left hand. In 107 games for San Diego this season he has hit .292 (107-for-366) with 28 doubles, one triple, four homers, 43 RBI, 42 runs scored, 51 walks and 13 steals. In 523 Major League games with the Padres since 2007, he has a career average of .269 (503-for-1868) with 108 doubles, eight triples, 36 home runs, 203 RBI, 216 runs scored, 201 walks and 44 stolen bases.
With today’s transactions the Padres now have 34 active players on their Major League roster and a full 40-man roster.
