Padres Production Declines in Desert Finale 

The Padres offensive outburst that began in Milwaukee and continued through Denver and on to Phoenix came to a screeching halt in the final game of their road trip, with a 6-1 loss to Arizona. During the trip they tied the team record of five consecutive games of scoring seven runs or more, only done twice before (4/18/79-4/22/79, 4/3/96- 4/8/96).

The split in Arizona dropped them to 4-4 on the road trip. But the trip featured the first win of the season by Mat Latos, along with Clayton Richard
