Robbie Erlin Headed to San Diego

Sources have told Friarhood.com that the Padres have called up Robbie Erlin from AAA Tucson.  Erlin was acquired at the trade deadline in 2011, along with Joe Wieland in exchange for Mike Adams.  Erlin won’t light up radar guns, but his pinpoint control will keep the defense active.

The 22-year old Erlin battled and elbow injury in 2012 that ate up most of his season.  When healthy he was productive, starting 11 games he compiled a 3-1 record with 52.1IP, 53H, 17ER, 14BB, and 72K

We will have to wait to find out what the corresponding move will be as well as how Erlin will be used.

Who is getting sent down? Weber? I doubt anyone on current rotation is getting DFA.
