Tucson Padres Week #12 Review 6/20/11- 6/26/11
Monday the Tucson Padres finished a four game series with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Starting pitcher Will Inman pitched six innings while allowing three earned runs with six strikeouts. SP Inman now has 83 strikeouts on the year; the second highest total in the Pacific Coast League.
Opposing starter John Maine did not make it out of the fifth inning, allowing eight earned runs including a solo homerun by first baseman Kyle Blanks and a three run homerun by centerfielder Cedric Hunter.
Third baseman Logan Forsythe was a triple away from the cycle on Monday with four hits including a homerun and four runs batted in. Four different T-Pads had multi-hit games resulting in SP Inman receiving his second win of the year.
Relief pitcher Luis Perdomo threw a perfect ninth inning to earn his ninth save in the 9-6 victory. The T-Pads won their third game in a row, winning the four game series with the Colorado Rockies triple-A affiliate.
Tucson returned home for a four game series with the first place Sacramento River Cats Tuesday. SP Jon Leicester pitched five innings with three strikeouts, while allowing three earned runs. Second baseman Jarrett Hoffpauir was three-for-three with a run scored, and catcher Rocky Gale had a hit and two RBI Tuesday. Seven different T-Pads had hits in the ten-inning, 4-3 loss.
Game two of the series saw a pitchers duel featuring Tucson SP Matt Buschmann and Sacramento
