Tucson Padres Week #21 Review 8/22/11-8/28/11
The Tucson Padres win five of eight games as they play their final home games of the season in week #21.
Tucson finished up their last home-stand in week #21 with two games against division champion Sacramento and six games with Reno.
Tucson starting pitcher Jon Leicester pitched against Sacramento starter Josh Outman. SP Leicester threw just over six innings while allowing eight runs with three strikeouts. SP Outman struck out seven and allowed four runs (one earned) in five innings.
The T-Pads scored eight runs after the fourth inning to make the game close and brought the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the ninth in the form of left fielder Jarrett Hoffpauir who flied out to end the game. LF Hoffpauir was the man Tucson wanted at the plate as he had three hits, three runs and a run batted in during game three of the series.
Catcher Luis Martinez had two hits and two RBI, first baseman Anthony Rizzo had a hit and an RBI, right fielder Bobby Kielty chipped in with two hits and an RBI, and shortstop Pat McKenna had a hit and two RBI in the 9-11 loss.
