Sharing is Caring

We’ve all been to a baseball game and sat in the seats to watch the games. We had to find the section, walk down to the row and jump over people to find our assigned seats.  Well, if this is not your can of corn, then I suggest you bring a blanket, a picnic basket and enjoy a game at the Park at the Park.

The Park Park at the Park offers a beautiful view of the action from the right center field opening. If a play occurs in an obstructed area or you want to watch a replay, there’s a mini jumbotron behind the batters eye to catch all the action. You can also take a picture with Mr. Padre himself. Well, that is a 10-foot statue of Tony Gwynn, imitating his signature swing that usually results in a swatted ball into the 5.5 hole.

If you’re not the picnic basket type of fan, you have plenty food item options. Directly in front of you is the Randy Jones BBQ stand. The former Cy Young Award winner's stand has been a staple at Padres game since they were at Qualcomm Stadium. You can purchase items ranging from BBQ pulled pork sandwiches to roasted corn on the cob. There are also ballpark staples in nearby stands such as hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, peanuts, etc.

If you have little ones, the Park at the Park is the best way to enjoy a game. Kids have an option of playing a fun game of baseball (under stadium staff supervision) or take a ride on the slide at the playground. Near the park is a concession stand with kids’ meals such as mini hot dogs, PB and J sandwiches, cookies, etc. The children will be kept entertained and you won’t miss any of the action on the field.

The two things that make the Park at the Park better than the stadium seating is: 1) you have unlimited legroom and 2) it only cost $5 for your ticket. So next time you head to Petco Park to watch a Padre game, take into consideration the option of seating at the Park at the Park.
